Wildan Pressley Bowman, 83, passed away March 6, 2013, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Wildan was born October 19, 1929, into a loving family who farmed in Wilford, Idaho. Wildan was preceded in death by his parents, Nina Romrell and Pressley Bowman, sisters Wilda Bowman, Nora and Mary Brown and a brother, Edwin Brown. After a happy childhood in Ora, Wilford, and St. Anthony Idaho Wildan graduated from Fremont High School. Wildan pursued a career with S.H. Kress and Co. working in Idaho and California. The United States Army called for Wildan to serve in the Korean War and he was drafted and served as a sergeant from February 1951 to 1953. He met the love of his life Jeniece Carlson and they were married August 26, 1955. During these years, Wildan and Jeniece welcomed into their family four fortunate children, Shellie, Tammy, Jeff, and David. In 1969 they moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho and on the bedrock of faith, hard work and loyalty and devotion to family, built a wonderful life centered on a family owned business, church and community service and a myriad of friends. Wildan is known and loved throughout the valley for his decades of devoted service as Bishop, Stake President, and other numerous callings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In later years Wildan and Jeniece served an extended mission as employment specialists for Deseret Industries. To all who knew him, Wildan will always be remembered as the Lords servant. He is survived by his loving wife, Jeniece Bowman of Idaho Falls, ID; Daughter, Shellie (Dr. Douglas) Stacey of Henderson, NV; Daughter, Tamela (Jeffery) Nebeker of Idaho Falls, ID; Son, Dr. Jeffery Wildan (Janet) Bowman of Draper, UT; Son, Dr. David (Kimberly) Bowman of Springville, UT; Brother, Glen (Genece) Brown of Blackfoot, ID; Sister, Virginia Bowman of Idaho Falls, ID; 17 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2013 at the Idaho Falls LDS Lincoln Stake Center (2545 Mesa St.) with Bishop Hal Peterson of the Idaho Falls Sandcreek 1st Ward, officiating. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge Avenue) and Monday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Taylor Cemetery.
