WILBUR OVIATT
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Wilbur Willis Oviatt, 73, of Idaho Falls, died July 17, 2006 his home. He was under the care of Aspen Hospice.
He was born December 26, 1932, in East Smethport, Pennsylvania to Clinton Oviatt and Marie Cole Oviatt. He graduated in 1950 from Oil City High School in Pennsylvania. In 1972, he graduated from Metro State College with a degree in Quality Assurance and an Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering.
On June 9, 1952, he married Norma Porterfield at the Presbyterian Church in Winchester, Virginia. He worked in Pennsylvania, Wyoming, Colorado, Alaska, Wisconsin, and retired in 1995 from the INEL as Quality Manager in the Audit Department. He received numerous awards through his years of work. He was a senior member of the ASQC Certified Quality and Reliability Engineer. He was a 32 degree Mason with Upton Lodge #38 A.F. & A.M. in Wyoming and the Denver Consistory in Denver, Colorado.
He enjoyed fishing, reading, gardening, and feeding the birds. Wilbur had a wonderful sense of humor and loved being with his family including his two grandchildren, Hannah and Samual Oviatt of Northglenn, Colorado.

Son: Bruce (Kathleen) Oviatt, Northglenn, CO
Son: Barry Oviatt, Aurora, CO
Son: Lance (Kimmy) Oviatt, Thornton, CO
Brother: Clinton Oviatt, Erie, PA
2 Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents.
At his request he was cremated. Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 20, 2006, at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) with Chaplin Steve Young, of Aspen Hospice, officiating. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to the services.

Norma, sad over the loss of Will. All of us shared great times at OCHS and these memories will always remain. I remember how he and I would roll around the wrestling mat - guess neither of us took it too seriously. My best to you and the family, Jeff

Norma: Sorry to hear about Bill"s passing. You have my sympathy. I remember you and Bill in high school, and at some of our class reunions.The class of 1950 was unique in that we had many wonderful classmates such as Bill. Again my condolences.

Wilbur and I worked together at Worthington Corp. and fished together at his favorite fishing hole on Pithole Creek. What a wonderful man he was.
