The sunshine of our lives, Whitnie Rae Harris, 14, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 6, 2011, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, of injuries received in a boating accident on Ririe Reservoir. Whitnie was born March 3, 1997, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Michael Wayne Harris and Mary Otteson Harris. She attended Ammon Elementary School, Woodland Hills Elementary School, Sunnyside Elementary School, and had finished 8th grade at Sandcreek Middle School in June. Whitnie was a happy person who loved life and was a great student. She was awarded the Presidential Physical Fitness Award. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Whitnie loved attending girls camp and loved her family. She enjoyed fast pitch softball, gymnastics, friends, laughing, and making people smile. Whitnie was always surrounded by her friends. Her best friend, Hannah, has been a favorite since she was two years old. A favorite pastime was playing long distance video games with her cousin, Nicole, in Arizona. Whitnie is survived by her loving parents, Michael Harris of Las Vegas, NV and Mary Harris of Idaho Falls, ID; a brother, Hayden Harris of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Emilee Harris of Idaho Falls, ID, sister, Chelsey Harris of Idaho Falls, ID; grandparents, Dennis & Connie Otteson of Idaho Falls, ID, grandparents, Darryl & Christine Harris of Idaho Falls, ID; She was preceded in death by her great grandparents, D. A. & Bernece Otteson, Darrell & Carol Bennett, Reed Harris and Wayne Sorensen. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2011, at the Idaho Falls LDS Shadow Mountain Ward, 3721 Shadow Mountain Road, Idaho Falls, Idaho, with Bishop Brian Burton officiating. The family will visit with friends from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
