WENDELL J. DENNING SALEM, OR – Wendell Johnson Denning, age 77, of Salem, Oregon, died August 23, 2003, at Salem Hospital, in Salem, surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 28, 1926, in Iona, Idaho, to Oliver Williams Denning and Orlie Johnson Denning. He married Joyce Hill on August 3, 1962, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He grew up in Iona, then moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, after marrying Joyce. They later moved to Richfield, Utah, and then to Salem, Oregon. He was a veteran of World War II. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Wendell's happiest moments came from spending time with his family, especially his grandkids, Skyler, Karalee, Benjamin, Olivia Jo, and Mackenzie. His legacy includes dedication to hard work, honesty, integrity, kindness, and unconditional love. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Joyce Denning; Son: Greg (Karen) Denning; Son: Brian Denning; Son: Kevin (Amy) Denning; Sister: Elsie (Larry – deceased) Anderson; Sister: Laverne (Leonard) Hepworth; and Sister: Mary Darla (DeLynn) Cook; and 5 Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, and by his brother, Oliver Wayne Denning. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 27, 2003 at the Salem LDS Stake Center in Salem, OR. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 29, 2003 at the Iona Cemetery in Iona, Idaho. Family and friends may call Friday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, Idaho Falls. Military Rites will be provided by the Bonneville County Veterans Team.
