Click Here To View Memorial Video Weldon Jay Wadsworth, 92, of Idaho Falls, passed away February 28, 2014, at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls. Weldon was born June 24, 1921, in Taylor, Idaho, to Bertie and Eliza Jane Stoddard Wadsworth. He grew up in Taylor and attended area schools. Weldon served in the United States Army during World War II in the European Theatre. In 1942, he married Letha Longhurst. They had a daughter, Peggy, and were later divorced. On October 7, 1946 he married Berniece M. Kay. To this union were born eleven children, Jacquelyn, Karolyn, Anita, Lane, Janie, Richard, Rhonda, Gary, Craig, Val, and Geri Lynn. Berniece and Weldon were later divorced. On August 7, 1986, Weldon married Blanch Judd Shultz. She passed away February 5, 1998. Weldon lived most of his life in the Idaho Falls area and Moses Lake, Washington, Tuscarora, Nevada and Driggs, Idaho. Weldon worked as a farmer, rancher, mechanic, in construction, and retired from the Idaho Canal Company in 2001. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed horses, hunting, fishing, cowboy poetry, guns, music and played the guitar and harmonica. Weldon is survived by his daughter, Peggy Capson of Utah, daughter, Jacqueline Shepherd of Seattle, WA; daughter, Karolyn (Brent) Holland of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Janie Jones (Frank Gneiting) of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Richard (Patty) Wadsworth of Moses Lake, WA; daughter, Rhonda (Mark) Amrozowicz of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Gary (Adrie Anne) Wadsworth of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Craig (Kim) Wadsworth of Rexburg, ID; son, Val (Jennifer) Wadsworth of Pocatello, ID; daughter, Geri Lynn Hansen of Idaho Falls, ID; twenty-six grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his third wife, Blanch Wadsworth, daughter, Anita Wadsworth, son, Lane Wadsworth, brothers, Percy and Durlin Wadsworth, sisters, Luella Chamberlain, Verna Scott, Doris Cox Summers, and Veda Barnett, a grandson, Brady Holland and a great great Granddaughter, Bentley Black. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2014, at the Jameston LDS Ward Building (1101 East 1250 North, Shelley). The family will visit with friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Friday at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge ) and 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday prior at the church. Burial will be in the Taylor Cemetery. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard. The family would like to thank the staff at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls, Dr. Redd, Dr. Bruggeman, PA Matt Merzlock and Dr. Roisum and his entire staff for their great care of Weldon.

Funeral Services will be held

Saturday March 8, 2014 , 11:00 a.m. at Jameston LDS Ward

The family will visit with friends Friday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior at the church. Burial in Taylor Cemetery.
