Wayne Ward

Wayne Randall Ward, 90, formerly of Idaho Falls, passed away December 11, 2010, at Banner Gardens Hospice House in Mesa, Arizona. He was born August 5, 1920, in Iona, Idaho to Lorenzo Jones Ward and Amelia Randall Ward. He grew up in Coltman, Idaho where he attended schools and graduated. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a Gyro-Compass Technician. On March 30, 1951 he married Lois Jeanne Johnson in Salt Lake LDS Temple. She preceded him in death on June 29, 1976. On January 8, 1977, he married Sally Josephine Johnson in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He was a farmer, and later a property manager. Wayne was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous callings including Ward Organist, Bishopric, High Priest Group Leader, Stake Missionary, and served a Mission at the Bishop's Storehouse and others. He enjoyed music, genealogy, traveling, studying the Gospel of Jesus Christ and many other topics and especially loved spending time with his family. Survivors are: Wife: Sally Ward, Seattle, WA Son: Joe (Kari) Ward, Mesa, AZ Daughter: Cheryl Ward, Idaho Falls, ID Son: Kevin (Melissa) Powers , Ogden , UT Daughter: April (Randy) Turpin, Blackfoot, ID Daughter: Becky (Jim) Summers, Mt. Vernon, WA Son: Norman (Yolanda) Ward, Kennewick, WA Son: Bill Jephson, Jr., Reno, NV 16 Grandchildren 1 Great Granddaughter He was preceded in death by son Gary Ward, daughter Emily Fairlie and wife Lois Jeanne Ward. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 18, 2010, at the Idaho Falls LDS Coltman Ward (12448 North 5th East) with Bishop Love, officiating. The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery with military rites by the Bonneville County Veterans Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
