Wayne S. Landon, 78, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 4, 2011 at his home from complications associated with Parkinson’s disease. He was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice.
Wayne was born September 9, 1932 in Idaho Falls, to Arthur Elijah Landon and Elva Irene Sorenson Landon. He grew up in the Osgood area attended Osgood elementary, O. E. Bell Jr. High, and Graduated from Idaho Falls High School. He was a lifelong resident of Osgood and worked as a farmer.
On September 14, 1950 he married his high school sweetheart Jeanine Bodily in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Together they raised four children.
Wayne was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a stake high councilor, a bishopric councilor, a Idaho Falls Temple officiator, and served two church missions. He loved spending time with his family, reading, fishing, and sports.
Survivors include his wife Jeanine of Osgood; son, Gregg W. (Wanda) Landon of Idaho Falls; son, Brad J. (Jana) Landon of Idaho Falls; daughter, J’lene (Bart) Robertson of Idaho Falls; daughter, Wendy (Bryon)Jemmett of Terreton; 15 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brother, Ira Landon of Helena, MT; brother, Jerry Landon of Roberts; and sister, Ora Albertson of Idaho Falls.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Floyd Landon, sister LaDean Lee, grandson Jaxon Jemmett, and great granddaughter, Sage Robertson.

Notes: Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2011 at the Osgood LDS Chapel (7940 North 35th West) with Bishop Brad Reed officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Wood Funeral Home (273 North Ridge Avenue) and Thursday 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
