WAYNE SAWYER, JR. Wayne Elvin Sawyer, Jr., 60, of Idaho Falls, died March 4, 2006, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born August 5, 1945, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Wayne E. Sawyer, Sr. and Ivaloo Thompson Sawyer. He attended schools in Idaho Falls. He received his GED while serving in the U. S. Army as a Staff Sergeant during the Vietnam conflict. He also earned an Associate's Degree in Law Enforcement from ISU. He married Jonnie Jo Smith in St. Anthony, Idaho, June 17, 1967. They were later divorced. He served in the National Guard, was a member of the Police Officers Association and also a life member of the Idaho State Bowhunters. He served as Chief of Police of Arco, Deputy Sheriff of Madison County, Bonneville County Deputy, and as Marshal in Kamiah, Idaho. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors, his dog, "Bubba," and his special friends, Andy, and especially Mike, who cared for him to the end. He is survived by: Son: Wayne E. (Shauna) Sawyer III of St. Anthony, ID; Daughter: Theresa (Craig) Kelsey of St. Anthony; Brother: Thomas G. Sawyer of Idaho Falls; Sister: Tammy Harris of Idaho Falls, He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Judy. Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, March 8, 2006, at the Taylor Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Team. Services are under the direction of Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue.
