Howard Warren Wheeler, 101, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 24, 2018, at his home.
Warren was born November 13, 1916, in Poplar, Idaho, to Jesse Jacob Wheeler and Eva Violet Moss Wheeler. He grew up and attended schools in the area. He received his high school diploma when he was in his 90's.
He joined the military and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
On September 20, 1947, he married Donna Geneva Anthony in Idaho Falls, Idaho. To this union were born children: Richard K, Christina Marie, Evelyn Rose, and Linda Rae. Warren and Donna made their home in Idaho Falls, where Warren worked for the City of Idaho Falls Sanitation Department.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed doing family history. He also loved fishing, trapping, hunting, gardening, and cooking.
Warren is survived by stepson, Robert Duane (Barbara) Howard of Grand Rapids, MI; daughter, Christina Pearce of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Evelyn Rose (Kent) Yorgensen of St. George, UT; daughter, Linda Rae Jones of Chubbuck, ID; honorary daughter, Lisa Marie; 19 grandchildren; 28+ great grandchildren; and 19+ great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three infant sons; a son, Richard K. Wheeler; a stepson, Harry Albert Howard; a sister, Louise Keller; four brothers, Jesse Lyle Wheeler, Rex Arnold Wheeler, Ursal Leon Wheeler, and Thayne Wheeler; and a son-in-law, Carl Jones.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 30, 2018, at the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery (12463 East 129 North) with Bishop Duane Ferguson officiating. Military rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
