WANDA BRAITHWAITE IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Wanda Mildred Bahr Braithwaite, 92, of Idaho Falls, died February 5, 2004, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Donna & Frank Randall, in Idaho Falls. Born March 23, 1911, at Junction, Utah, to Joseph Hyrum Bahr and Sarah Ann Buckley Bahr, she spent her early years in the Provo area. They moved to Clawson, Idaho, when she was 13 and she graduated from Teton High School in Driggs. She was active in debate and public speaking and won the Choules Oratorical Medal in 1928. She attended LDS Business College in Salt Lake City, Utah. She married Alton LaRay Braithwaite September 2, 1933, in the Salt Lake Temple. They made their home in Salt Lake City until 1938, when they moved to Arco, Idaho, and she worked in the FHA Office. After moving to Idaho Falls in 1948 she worked for the AEC and subcontractors for about 25 years. Alton passed away November 8, 1998. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various callings, including teaching and typing blessings for two patriarchs. She also served a mission with her husband to Tonopah, Nevada, and St. George, Utah. She was always a hard worker, gave many hours of service to her family, and is fondly remembered for her good cooking and hospitality. Surviving are: Daughter: Donna Rae [Frank] Randall, Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Sally Aleen [Ramon] Kohler, St. George, UT Daughter: Linda [Steven] Fielding, Cedar City, UT Daughter: LaVern [Curt] Wilkins, Idaho Falls, ID, currently working in Aix en Provence, France Son: Alton Kent [Hannah] Braithwaite, Lehi, UT Daughter: Sherri Ann [Kent] Jackson, Anchorage, AK 43 Grandchildren, 115 Great Grandchildren, 7 Great Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, Joseph, Merlin, and Ellis Bahr, three sisters, LaVern Carter, Louise Storrs, and Edith Rammell, and two infant grandchildren. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 13, 2004, at the Idaho Falls LDS Coltman 2nd Ward, 12448 North 5th East, Idaho Falls, with Bishop David Keck officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and Saturday for one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Grant-Central Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Eastern Idaho, 1920 East 17th Street, Idaho Falls, ID 83404 or Primary Children’s Medical Center, P. O. Box 58249, Salt Lake City, UT 84158-0249.
