Wanda Lue Evans Belnap, 86, of Iona, passed away February 10, 2017, at her home, and was reunited with her sweetheart of 69 years. She was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice. Wanda Lue was born November 15, 1930, in Sugar City, Idaho, to Edward Partington Evans and Sarah Otera Cluff Evans. She grew up and attended schools in the Sugar City area and graduated from Sugar-Salem High School. On June 16, 1948, she married Arlo H. Belnap in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She and Arlo made their home in Rexburg, then moved to Iona, Idaho, where they raised their six children, Greg, Evan, Rock, Luann, Joy, and Joseph. Wanda Lue was a wife, mother, and homemaker. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various capacities in Primary, Young Women, and Relief Society over the years. She worked in the office at the Idaho Falls Temple for many years and also worked in sheet music at Chesbro Music Company. She loved music and was active in the Singing Mothers, Trionaires, and served as ward organist and ward chorister for many years. She taught piano lessons for 35 years. Wanda Lue enjoyed painting, sewing clothes, softball and tennis, and beat everyone at table tennis games. She loved family history work, needlepoint, and wrote plays. In her high school yearbook she was voted ‘hot legs.’ Wanda Lue is survived by her son, Greg (Kathryn Maxine) Belnap of Idaho Falls, ID, son, Evan Arlo (LoAnn) Belnap of Iona, ID, son, Rock E. (Carol Ann) Belnap of Orem, UT, daughter, Luann (Wayne) Lloyd of South Jordan, UT, daughter, Joy (Ron) Gentry of Pocatello, ID, son, Joseph Bruce (Amie) Belnap of Ammon, ID, sister, Fay Dansie of Rigby, ID, sister, Nelda Kershaw of Caldwell, ID, brother, Myron Evans of Hamer, ID, brother, Paul Evans of Moody, ID, 50 grandchildren and 65 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, Verla Price and Marjorie Nelson, two brothers, William Evans and Elihu Evans, two grandsons, Jason Lea Lloyd and Michael Wayne Lloyd, and a great granddaughter, Brevan Belnap. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 17, 2017, at the Iona LDS 5th Ward, 7555 North 55 East, with Bishop Lynn Rockwood officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in the Wilford Cemetery.
