Walter Southon Tisdale, 81, of Idaho Falls, passed away February 18, 2024, at Eagle Rock Health and Rehabilitation of Cascadia.
Walter was born February 8, 1943, in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Canada, to Edwin William Tisdale and Norah Alice Southon Tisdale. He grew up and attended schools in Moscow, Idaho. He attended the University of Idaho, where he earned his bachelor degree in electrical engineering, and his masters in nuclear engineering.
On December 29, 1963, he married Edythe LeAnna Turner in Salina, Kansas. Walter and Edythe made their home in Idaho Falls where Walter worked as a Engineer for the Idaho National Laboratory.
Walter was a member of Crosspoint Community Church of the Nazarene. He was very service oriented and served on the church board. He served missions overseas to Ukraine, India, Argentina, and Africa. He also spent a great deal of time working with Habitat for Humanity. He enjoyed camping and bowling.
Walter is survived by his wife, Edythe Tisdale of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, LeAnna Lynn Tisdale of Idaho Falls, ID, and son, David Scott (Lisa) Tisdale of Satsuma, AL; and 1 grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Julie Gerrard.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Crosspoint Community Church, 1900 Grandview Drive, with Aaron Duval officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
