WALTER H. PECK
SPRINGVILLE, UT -- Walter H. Peck, beloved husband, father and grandfather peacefully passed away at his home in Springville, Utah on Sunday, June 2, 2002, at the age of 82. He was surrounded by his loving family and eternal bride.
Walter was born August 3, 1919 in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Jared George Peck and Hannah Lucille Marie Nielsen Peck. He married Anna Andersen August 29, 1938 in Logan, Utah. They were later sealed for all eternity on August 29, 1951 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
Walter served in the Railroad Battalion during World War II in France, Germany and Belgium. He worked as an engineer on the Union Pacific Railroad for 43 years.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in various positions and in the Scouting program. Walter was also a member of the Elks Club in Idaho Falls and Pocatello. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and outings with his family. After his retirement in 1984, he and his wife enjoyed traveling together.
He is survived by his wife Anna of Springville, UT, four sons and two daughters and their spouses: Larry (Jan) Peck of Brackettville, TX; Gerald (Maja) Peck of Atlanta, GA; Walter (Louise) Peck of Tacoma, WA; Lorraine (Charles) Elliott of Las Vegas, NV; Gordon (Mary) Peck of Clinton, UT; Darlene (Keith) Hale of Springville, UT; 31 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, a sister, a grandson and a great-grandson.
A viewing will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 6th at the Hobble Creek LDS 14th Ward, 1050 South 1700 East, Springville, Utah, followed by a memorial service at Noon.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 Noon, Friday, June 7, 2002, at the Idaho Falls LDS 7th Ward (955 Memorial Drive), preceded by a viewing at 11 a.m. at the church.
Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park under the direction of Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, Idaho Falls, ID 83402 (208) 522-2751.
