Walter "Walt" Miles

Walt F. Miles, 78, passed away August 3, 2017, at his home surrounded by loved ones. Walt was born June 20,1939, in Jackson Hole Wyoming, to Wilmont "Shorty" and Evalyn Miles. He grew up in Stebnite, Idaho, and later moved to Pocatello. At the age of 17 he joined the United States Navy. After serving in the USN he worked as a diesel mechanic with his dad. He then partnered with A-1 Towing. After that he became terminal manager at Clark Tank Lines. He also opened a diesel shop in Pocatello, with Mont Jones. He would later worked for Bugraff Contruction. He met his wife, Merelin in August of 1976, they were married September 4, 1976. Together they lived in Fort Hall, Dubois, and most recently Idaho Falls. Walt was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed fly fishing with one of his granddaughters, and took pride in the fact that he taught two of his granddaughters how to drive. Walt is survived by his loving wife Merelin Miles, 2 sons from a previous marriage; Rex (Pam) Miles of Chubbuck and Jason Miles of Chubbuck. 5 step children; Guy Henstock of Pocatello, Pam Henstock of Oregon, Dee Henstock of Oregon, Keith Henstock of Kimberly, and Melissa (Randy) Uehling of Idaho Falls. He has 17 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. Walt was proceeded in death by his dad "Shorty" Miles, his mother Evalyn Hall, one son, and two grandsons. At his request no services will be held.
