WALTER C. BURT, JR.
IDAHO FALLS, ID - Walter Curtis Burt, 79, of Ririe, died
November 24, 2004, at his home from natural causes.
He was born July 20, 1925, in Logan, Utah, to Walter
Curtis Burt, Sr. and Veda Malinda Miles Burt. His Dad passed away when
he was eleven years old. His mother then married Morris J. Jordan and
they moved to the Milo area, east of Ucon. He graduated from Ucon High
School in 1943. He has lived in Ririe for 51 years.
He served in the U. S. Army during World War II in the
Pacific Theatre-Phillipines.
He married Betty Joyce Bailey June 9, 1944, in the Salt
Lake LDS Temple. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints, he served as Ward Financial Clerk, teacher in Sunday School, and
Stake Activity Director for the Young Men’s Organization.
He worked as a bookkeeper and salesman for Bestway Builders,
which became Boise Cascade and at the time of his retirement, BMC West.
He enjoyed collecting coins, model cars and listening
to music. He had a beautiful tenor voice and also played the trumpet.
Because of his talent with the trumpet, he played Taps at local Memorial
Day services for the veterans, and played with a band that performed at
local dances. He was also a clown for local rodeos.

Brother: John Jordan, Sandy, UT
26 Grandchildren, 17Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by mother, father, stepfather, Morris Jordan,
a son, Joseph Burt, and a daughter, Bonnie Olson.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November
30, 2004, at the Ririe LDS Stake Center, 14061 North 130 East..
The family will visit with friends for one hour prior
to services at the church.
Burial will be in Ririe-Shelton Cemetery where Military
Rites will be performed. Services are under the direction of Wood Funeral
Home.
