WALT HUNTER
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Walter Clarence “Walt” Hunter, 87, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 20, 2007, at Idaho Falls Health & Rehab Center of natural causes.
He was born August 4, 1919, in Rigby, Idaho, to Clarence Bingham Hunter and Rachel Cecilia Beckstrand Hunter. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II in New Guinea and the Philippines.
He married Lilas Maureen Johnson August 5, 1947, in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. He worked as a painter, cab driver, sheepherder, fish hatchery worker, and was a custodian most of his life at Kraft Foods in Pocatello. They lived in Idaho Falls, Pocatello and Meridian, Idaho.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he held several callings. He enjoyed writing poems, ditties, playing the harmonica, singing, camping, traveling, and playing all kinds of games.

Brother: David Hunter of Ammon, ID
Brother: Ed Hunter of Ammon, ID
Sister: Gloria Jones of Kiezer, OR
24 Grandchildren & 37 Great Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mabel Hinkley.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at the Ammon LDS West Stake Center, 2055 Coronado, with David Hunter officiating. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, and Wednesday from Noon to 12:45 p.m. at the church.
Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Team.
