Walter Hanson Grass, 90, of Idaho Falls, passed away April 25, 2013, at his home. He was born December 7, 1922, in Fort Bragg, California to Andrew Hugo Grass and Annie Marie Hanson Grass. He graduated from Leggit Valley High School in Mendocino, California. He served in the U.S. Army as a Sargent during World War II. From 1943-1945, he served with the 727 Amphibious Tank Battalion in the Pacific Theater. On June 13, 1946, he married LuEtta Ruby Hansen in Reno, Nevada. She preceded him in death on September 25, 2001. Walter worked as a truck driver, logger, and mechanic. Survivors are: Son: Raymond (Mary Ellen) Grass, Beavercreek, OH Son: Darrell Grass, Idaho Falls, ID Son: Michael (Becki) Grass, San Diego, CA Son: Gary Grass, Shelley, ID 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren Sister: Bessie Gaither Sister: Laverne King He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) in Idaho Falls.
