Walter Leroy “Wally” Hanck, 85, of Idaho Falls, passed away June 12, 2014, at his home. He was under the care of his family and Hands of Hope Hospice.
Wally was born April 3, 1929, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Leroy Hanck and Anna Andricko Hanck. He grew up and attended schools in Cleveland.
He married Nina Tanno and they had four children, Dennis, Gary, Maureen, and Robert. They later divorced. On January 15, 1979, he married Deborah Lee Kolhoff in Ohio. They were married for twenty eight years before Debbie passed away August 28, 2007.
Wally worked for Ohio Bell (later known as AT&T) for forty three years. When he retired, he traveled, settling in California for awhile, where he operated a charter boat. Wally enjoyed taking his customers out fishing and preparing their catch of the day. He loved fishing, skiing, sky diving, scuba diving, and cooking for all of his friends. He later moved to Florida and found a passion as a volunteer fire fighter. He is an Honorary Lifetime Member of the Liberty Fire Department in DeFuniak Springs, Florida.

son, Gary Hanck of Idaho Falls, ID.
daughter, Maureen Bainbridge of Idaho Falls, ID,
8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Debbie, two sons, Dennis and Robert, and sisters, Irene and Ruth.
