Wallace Charles Wilding, 77, of Pocatello, Idaho, passed away May 13, 2016, at his home.
Wallace was born September 6, 1938, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Wallace Walter Wilding and Hanna Pearl Fullmer Wilding. He grew up and attended schools in Roberts and Terreton and graduated from Sugar-Salem High School.
On December 7, 1960, he married Evelyn Ione Smuin in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. To this union were born six children, Mark, Daren, Lorin, Shalene, Tom, and John. Wallace and Evelyn made their home in Pocatello and Idaho Falls. Wallace worked as a fire fighter and EMT for 20 years. He was also a small business owner.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and earned many awards including the District Award of Merit. He served in Bishoprics and as Sunday School teacher, temple worker, and served three missions, two with his wife Evelyn. He enjoyed hunting, camping, and family time.
Wallace is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Evelyn Wilding of Pocatello, ID; son, Mark (Tammy) Wilding of Pocatello, ID; son, Daren (Mellonee) Wilding of Willard, UT; son, Lorin (Patricia) Wilding of West Haven, UT; daughter, Shalene (Ricky) Robinson of Pocatello, ID; son, Tom (Allison) Wilding of Fort Payne, AL; son, John (Shanna) Wilding of Meridian, ID; sisters, Patricia Christensen of St. George, UT; Brenda Summers of Terreton, ID; Ronda Kunz of Rigby, ID; brothers, Blair Wilding of Terreton, ID; Darwin Wilding of Nampa, ID; Glade Wilding of Idaho Falls, ID; 29 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Pearl Wilding, and two granddaughters, Ashley and Kianna.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at the Idaho Falls LDS Lincoln 1st Ward, 3700 East Lincoln Road, with Bishop Heiner officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the West Jefferson Cemetery in Terreton.
