Wallace Swenson

Joseph Wallace Swenson, 73, of Shelley, passed away on February 10, 2015, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. He was born on June 5, 1941, in Firth, Idaho to Joseph Daniel Swenson and Violet Caroline Carlson Swenson. He attended schools in Shelley, graduating from Shelley High School. He continued his education at City Colleges of Chicago where he received an Associate’s Degree. He served in the U. S. Air Force for 20 years and retired in 1980 On June 10, 1962, he married Jacquelyn Patri Bartausky in Shelley, Idaho. He worked as a computer programmer for Idaho Nuclear Laboratories (INL) for 26 years following his military career. Wallace was a member of the Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed writing and is the author of several published books. He also enjoyed shooting, gardening, and reading. Survivors are: Wife: Jacquelyn Swenson of Shelley, ID Daughter: Jocelyn of Shelley, ID Son: Brett “Max” of Shelley, ID Brother: Frank Swenson Brother: Leslie Swenson Sister: Linda Smith Brother: Joe Swenson Brother: Bill Swenson Grandchildren: Allen Winberg, Brandon Winberg, Samantha Mashburn and Max Hayes He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Eric; and a sister, Jeanette. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2015, at the Firth-Riverview Cemetery in Firth, Idaho. The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 10-11:00 a.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) in Idaho Falls.
