Wade Allen Campbell packed his bags one last time and returned home on August 27, 2016, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He passed away from complications of Alzheimer’s and was under the care of Encompass Home Health and Hospice. Wade was born August 9, 1942, in Shelley, Idaho, to Marley and Bernita Campbell. He was the second of three sons. He attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1960. He then went on to attend Utah State University. On March 16, 1962, he married Betty Jean Waters, his high school sweetheart. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on July 3, 1981. They have three children. They resided in the Idaho Falls area for 50 years of married life. Wade farmed, helped his father at Intervalley Exchange, and was employed at Bonneville County Road and Bridge and Jewel Electric. Wade enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time at the family cabin in Island Park. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in numerous callings including two stake high councils and Bishop of the Garfield 1st Ward in Rigby. Wade is survived by his children, Todd (Carla) Campbell of Idaho Falls, ID; Kimberly (Ralph) Clayton of Los Alamos, NM; Kristy (Quinn) Mortensen of Shelley, ID; and brothers, Lewis (Patricia) Campbell and Steven (Paula) Campbell. He has twelve grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean, and his parents, Marley and Bernita Campbell. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 1, 2016, at the Garfield LDS 1st Ward, 71 North 3700 East in Rigby, with Bishop Chad Billman presiding. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Taylor Cemetery.
