Von E. Buxton, 83, of Idaho Falls, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2019, at his home.
Von was born September 3,1936, in Driggs, Idaho, to Erman Buxton and Phyllis Beth Buxton. He attended Loren Farr Elementary in Ogden, Utah, and graduated from Ogden High School. Von went on to attend aviation school in Troutdale, Oregon.
On June 14, 1964, he married Alta Elizabeth Ballard Buxton in Elko, Nevada. Von and Alta made their home in Idaho Falls, where Von worked for School District #91 as a safety inspector. They were blessed with two daughters, Heather and Jennifer.
Von was Christian and had strong love for his Father in Heaven. It showed through in his love for all life. Von was a professional musician throughout his life. He was also a professional pilot, working as a flight instructor, and as a crop-duster pilot. He also had the occasion to fly fire fighting aircraft. Von enjoyed leatherwork, making knives, fishing, prospecting, and anything outdoors with his children and grandchildren.
Von is survived by his loving wife, Alta Elizabeth Buxton of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Rebecca Heather (Erick) Neher of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Jennifer Ann Buxton of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Natalie (Boyd) Keisel of Richfield, UT; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Joan Frew.
At Von’s request, no services will be held. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
