Virginia Walton

Virginia Faye Walton, 75, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 22, 2017, at her home. She was under the care of Encompass Hospice and her family.

Virginia was born August 20, 1942, in Yankton, South Dakota, to Harland Sylvester Walton and Doris Ruby DePeu Walton. She lived in various places due to her father being in the Navy but settled in Idaho Falls.

Virginia worked as a dog groomer and breeder. She enjoyed spending time with her family, drawing, bingo, raising her poodles, sewing, horseback riding, and listening to her family playing music.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Virginia enjoyed going to the temple and also worked in the temple laundry.

Virginia is survived by her great niece, Jamey Johnson of Idaho Falls, ID. great-great niece, Danica Docken of Idaho Falls, ID, chosen niece, Tera Lyn Andersen of Idaho Falls, ID, brother, Lawrence Allan Walton; sister, Daisy Mae Garcia; sister, Barbara Jone Walton; sister, Patricia Louise Kasparek; brother, Don Ray Walton; brother, Eddie Leon Walton; brother, Harland Sylvester Walton Jr.; brother, Randy Walton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harland Walton and Doris Dupeu and her son, Walter "Gene" Lee Smith, and brother, Clyde Harland Walton.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2018, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the LDS 21st Ward, 1155 1st Street in Idaho Falls. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge, with Bishop Robert Pettit, officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
