Virginia "Ginger" Mae (Smith) Stenlund

Virginia "Ginger" Mae Smith Stenlund, 83, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away April 22, 2025, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Virginia was born February 19, 1942, in Winnemacca, Nevada, to Claude Henry Smith and Bernice Agatha Schmitt Smith. She grew up and attended schools in Winnemacca and graduated from Humbolt County High School.

On September 30, 1967, she married Marvin Lionel Stenlund in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where they made their home. Virginia worked as a secretary at INEL and raised two girls.

Virginia enjoyed traveling, crafts, gardening, reading, and computer games, along with spending time with her grandchildren.

Virginia is survived by her daughter, Lizabeth, and grandson, David Hutchinson of Pocatello, ID; daughter, Michelle, and son-in-law, Domenico, grandchildren, Joshua, Mimmo, Izabella, Greco, and future grandson, Andrew Howery of Baltimore, MD; brother-in-law, Robert Kuhn of Idaho Falls, ID; and sister-in-law, Marlyce Taylor of Helena, MT.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Stenlund; parents, Claude and Bernice Smith; sisters, Beverly Smith and Marilyn Kuhn; and brother, James Smith.

Private family services will be planned.
