Virginia Dee Hayes, 73, of Idaho Falls, passed away September 25, 2022, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Ginger was born February 22, 1949, in Shelley, Idaho, to Jay O McKinlay and Alma Marie Simmons McKinlay. She grew up in Mud Lake until moving to Merced, California, in high school. She graduated from Merced High School. She moved to American Falls after high school to go to beauty college. She married Raymond Alcorn in 1974, and they had one daughter. They lived in Reno, Nevada, and Merced, California. They were married until his passing. She lived in Merced until 2004 when she moved to Hamer, Idaho, and married Reed Sanders until his passing. She moved to Idaho Falls in 2007.
She married Ron Hayes in 1997. They were later divorced, but remarried in 2014.
Ginger was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed doing nails and watching baseball on weekends. She loved people and spending time with her friends. Her greatest joy was spending time with family, especially her grandkids.
Ginger is survived by her husband, Ronald Stephen Hayes of Idaho Falls, ID; daughters, DeeAnn (Daniel) Jones of Idaho Falls, ID and Vanessa (Michael Monroe) Sanders of El Paso, TX; granddaughters, Poppy Jones and Eloise Jones; and brother, Neal (Amy) McKinlay of Tucson, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three previous husbands, Raymond Alcorn, Reed Sanders, and Don Smith.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 30, 2022, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park in Merced, California.
