Violet Roberts

Violet Bartschi Roberts, 95, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 15, 2018, at Fairwinds-Sand Creek Retirement Community. She was under the care of her family and OneSource Hospice. Violet was born October 8, 1922, in Nounan, Idaho to Leo Fredrick Bartschi and Enes Koeven Bartschi. She grew up in Bear Lake, attended grade school in Sharon, Idaho and graduated from Paris High School. She also attended Utah State University and Brigham Young University where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. On March 6, 1942, she married Cyril Benjamin "C. B." Roberts in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. To this union were born five children: DeLoy, Dennis, Joyce, Bruce, and Brent. Violet and C. B. made their home in Idaho Falls where she was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She also worked as a teacher for 28 years at Linden Park Elementary until her retirement in 1985. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in numerous callings including Relief Society President, Sunday School Teacher, Primary Teacher, Ward Organist and as a Temple Worker. She and her husband, Cyril, also served as missionaries in the Mississippi, Jackson Mission. She enjoyed crocheting, camping, reading, music, baking cookies, and rides with her husband. She also loved her family and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Violet is survived by her son, DeLoy (Lorna) Roberts of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Dennis (Shanna) Roberts of West Valley City, UT; daughter, Joyce (Bruce) Loveland of Boise, ID; son, Bruce (Carol) Roberts of Ammon, ID; sister: Twilla Lindsay of Pocatello, ID; brother: Sherman (Ritva) Bartschi of Salt Lake City, UT; brother: Farrell (Karren) Bartschi of West Valley City, UT; 25 grandchildren, 81 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cyril; and a son, Brent Roberts. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at the Idaho Falls LDS Stonehaven Ward (2055 Coronado) with Bishop Nathan A. Hunsaker officiating. The family will visit with friends from 9-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
