Vincente Maran Jones

Vincente Maran Jones, 71, of Shelley, passed away January 5, 2021, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Vince was born June 28, 1949, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to William Richard Jones Sr. and May Foster. He grew up in Idaho Falls and attended Idaho Falls High School. Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and fought honorably in the Vietnam War. He went on to spend most of his career as a local truck driver.

On September 19, 2003, he married Sandra Lewis Jones in Idaho Falls. Together, they raised four children: Nichole, Jon, Aaron, and Douglass. Vince and Sandy made their home in Goshen, where Vince enjoyed the great outdoors–especially fishing, camping, hunting, and gold mining. He proudly celebrated 36 years of sobriety this past year.

Vince is survived by his loving wife, Sandy; mother, Nellie May Brower; children, Nichole Powell of Shelley, ID, Jon (Juli) Clapp of Blackfoot, ID,  and Douglass Clapp of Salt Lake City, UT; brother, Jon (Debra) Jones of Firth, ID; and 7 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Sr.; brothers, William Jr. and Rick Jones; and a son, Aaron Clapp.

Services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donating to any Bank of Commerce in honor of Vince. The account is under the name Sandy Jones.
