Vincent Warren Gorman, 69, retired Mechanical Engineer at the INL, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away at home.
He was born January 1, 1941 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to the late Vincent S. and Maragret E. Jacobson Gorman. He was the oldest of four siblings. He spent his childhood in Albuquerque, NM and attended grade school at St. Teresa’s and Washington Manor. Vince graduated from Highland High School in 1958. He went on to attend college at the University of New Mexico and received his Masters in Engineering in 1965.
In 1967, he moved to Idaho Falls to work as a Mechanical Engineer for Phillips Petroleum Atomic Energy Division. On July 17, 1971 he married Valerie Bingham and had three children. He spent his early adulthood enjoying socializing with his friends, camping, backpacking, fishing, and hunting. Family was very important to Vince and his happiest times were spent with his parents, siblings, and children. He retired from the INL in 2000 and was a proud, lifelong member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Patrick Aggers and grandchildren, Conor and Kiera of Boise, Idaho; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Paula Gorman, and grandchildren Liam, Maeve, Declan, Vivien and baby of Niskayuna, NY; son, Paul Gorman, and granddaughter Elaina of Boise, ID; brother and sister-in-law John and Beverly Gorman of Shelton, WA; brother and sister-in-law Patrick and Kathleen Gorman of Albuquerque, NM; and former wife, Valerie Gorman.
Vincent was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Martinelli.
