Victor Nield

Victor Donald Nield, formerly of Idaho Falls, passed to Heaven July 5, 2017, in Spokane, Washington. Victor was born March 26, 1936, to Edwin and Leona Nield in Idaho Falls. Victor lived a full and long life to the age of 81. He was always full of life and enjoyed many things. He grew up on a farm with all the marvelous opportunities farm life can afford. He was not afraid of hard work and played hard. He was born and raised in a very close knit family and had many good times with his siblings and cousins. Victor graduated high school from Fairview High School. At the age of 18 he joined the Air Force and served his country from 1956 to 1963. Victor married Mary Carole Egbert in the Idaho Falls Temple on Sept. 14th 1963. They shared a happy life together until Mary passed away 33 years later. Victor was an avid pool player, participating in many tournaments. He was a wonderful dancer, often showing the younger set just how it was done. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and just spending time in the woods. He enjoyed watching wrestling. Victor made his living as a carpenter and taught this trade to his nephews and his son. He was very good and the whole family took a lot of pride in being the fastest at the trade and still doing quality work. Being in a construction trade, Victor moved his family several times to stay employed. He lived in Idaho Falls and Blackfoot, Idaho and in Tacoma and Spokane Washington. He finally put roots down in Spokane. Victor lived surrounded by love, family and friends. He has been an inspiration to us all. He is survived by his loving family, daughter Karen and spouse, Dave; daughter, Sharla and spouse, Donald; son, Larry; and daughter Jeanette; his grandchildren, Dalen, Brittany and spouse Brent, Dasha, Damien, Ashlee and spouse Kyle, Stephanie and spouse Jason, Germanie and spouse Kainon, and Breanna; great-grandchildren, Christopher, Haidyn, Joel, Elsey, Zapharia, Logan, Easton, Kainon, Keagen, Emerson, Jaxon and Luna; sisters, Marjorie, spouse, Jim and Emily; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jay and Robert, and a brother-in-law, Jim. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10-10:45 a.m., both at Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be at Iona Cemetery.
