Victor Gonzales, Jr.

Victor Tijerina Gonzales Jr., 39, of Firth, passed away August 16, 2022, at his home.

Victor was born May 15, 1983, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Victor Gonzales Sr. and Gloria Tijerina. He grew up and attended Arco Elementary and graduated from Butte High School. He attended Idaho State University before joining the United States Air Force. Victor went to Airman Leadership School and to Non-Commission Office Course. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree through the Air Force. During his tenure, he retained the rank of Staff Sergeant and was awarded Good Conduct on two separate occasions.

He married Cassie Haralson, and they had four children, Jerzi, Trace, Cruz, and Zara. Victor made his home in Firth, Idaho, where he worked construction for RCG Construction.

He was a member of the Catholic Church.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and anything to do with his kids.

Victor is survived by his father, Victor Gonzales, Sr. of Firth, ID; mother, Gloria Platz of Arco, ID; sister, Mandy (Mike) Sanford of Austin, TX; brother, Roman (Chelsea) Gonzales of Firth, ID; daughter, Jerzi Gonzales, son, Trace Gonzales, son, Cruz Gonzales, daughter, Zara Gonzales, all of Ririe, ID.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rigo and Martina Gonzales and Ramiro and Carmen Tijerina; and cousin, Natalie Reyes.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road.  The family will visit with friends Saturday from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. prior at the funeral home.  Services will be broadcast live at www.woodfuneralhome.com. Burial will be in the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Blackfoot, ID.

Military Honors will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
