Vicki Jean Monday

Vicki Jean Monday, born July 2, 1947, (née Gustavson), 74, passed away on July 3, 2021.

Vicki was a very strong-willed, hard working, self-made woman. She graduated from Horlick High School in Racine, Wisconsin, in 1965, and would go on to marry Richard John Monday (deceased) on May 11, 1968. They had three daughters. Vicki worked as an accountant for over fifty years and was honored for her work in the ‘Who’s Who’ publication for having created her own accounting business.

Throughout her 74 years, she amassed a great deal of friends who were like family, cherishing those friendships deeply. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, cooking, and learning about her family’s genealogy.

Vicki was the eldest child of Mildred Rose (née Hedstrom) (Gustavson) Nondorf, born July 5,1921, died August 17, 2007, and Robert Elof Gustavson, born September 27, 1918, died September, 1984.

She is survived by her sisters, Jo (Cliff) Kutzner and Toni Revane; brother, Peter (Vicki) Nondorf); daughters, Carrie Monday and Valerie (Kevin, deceased) Zimmerman. She was ‘Nanny’ to five grandchildren: Amanda Bradeen, Ryan McCready, Amara Zimmerman, Courtney McCready, and Austin Zimmerman; along with ‘Tutu’ to seven great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Monday; and daughter, Sherrie Lynn Monday.

Vicki’s life began in Wisconsin, came to an end in Idaho, but her heart and soul lived in Hawaii. Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts and memories of those who loved her.

In lieu of flowers, we are asking that donations be made to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs via cem.va.gov.
