Vic Yates

Vic Jerald Yates, 54, of Idaho Falls, passed away suddenly June 6, 2011, of a heart attack. He was born May 31, 1957, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Jerald Charles Yates and Roma Pearl Johnson Yates. Vic attended schools in Ririe and graduated from Ririe High School where he participated in wrestling. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War period. He married his sweetheart, Connie Lynn Nelson on September 22, 1988, in Lewiston, Idaho. They made their home in Idaho Falls. They were not privileged to have children born to their union. Vic was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, being with family, and aiding anyone in need. Survivors include: Wife: Connie Yates, Life Care Center of Idaho Falls, ID Sister: ZeeRae Hill of Olympia, WA Sister: Deanne (Brent) Meng of Ucon, ID Sister: Dixie Lynn (Dick) Gardner of Ammon, ID Step-mother: June Cowan Yates of Idaho Falls, ID Brother: Frank (Jackie) Cowan of UT Brother: Carl (Dawn Ette) Cowan of Rigby, ID Brother: Ben (Valerie) Cowan of Rigby, ID Sister: Linda (Gene) Killian of Ammon, ID Vic was preceded in death by his parents. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 11, 2011, at the Ririe LDS 2nd Ward / Perry Ward Building, 285 - 2nd West, Ririe, Idaho, prior to departing for the cemetery. Graveside Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Rd.
