Veryl Ray Olson, 75, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, died July 2, 2002, at his home. He was born November 30, 1926, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Sylvan R. Olson and Mary Hannah Green Olson. He grew up and attended schools in the area, graduating from Idaho Falls High School. He continued his education at Ricks College where he earned an Associate Degree. He served as a Corporal in the U. S. Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He married Juanita Helen Johnson June 1, 1949, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She died June 23, 1969. He worked for over 30 years as a Spectroanalytical Chemist for INEEL. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served in numerous teaching positions and as a stake missionary. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and especially spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are: Daughter: Janice Rose (James) Flanagan, West Valley, UT Son: Dennis Ray (Wen) Olson, Eagle, ID Daughter: Barbara Jean (Dell) McNeil, Aurora, IL Daughter: Mary Angela (Roger) Nielson, Idaho Falls, ID Brother: Dale R. Olson, Salt Lake City, UT Brother: Ralph Olson, Millwakie, OR Brother: Robert Olson, CA Sister: Maurine Homer, Idaho Falls, ID 18 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, a brother and two sisters. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 6, 2002, at the Idaho Falls LDS Grandview Ward, 1450 Mountain View Lane, with Bishop Grand Leavitt officiating. The family will meet with friends one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Team.
