Lynden VerNon Wages, 90, of Idaho Falls, passed away February 1, 2024, at Lincoln Court Assisted and Senior Living.
VerNon was born November 6, 1933, in Ririe, Idaho, to Charles Franklin Wages and Coral Durrant Wages. He grew up and attended schools in Ririe and graduated from Ririe High School.
On November 2, 1962, he married Jannis Louise Harris in the Idaho Falls Temple. VerNon and Jannis made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where VerNon worked as a Quality Control Inspector for the INEL for forty-one years.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having served a mission in New Zealand, and later served in many callings. He enjoyed being outside, working on the farm, playing with his family, and teaching the meaning of hard work.
VerNon is survived by his wife, Jannis Wages of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Dwight Wages of Rigby, ID; daughter, Anita (Edwin) Gantt of Springville, UT; daughter, Robin Daniel of VanVleck, TX; son, Brian (Michelle) Wages of Provo, UT; 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Darren Wages; sister, Gayle Finck; brother, Ditzel T. Wages; brother, Fenner C. Wages; and sister, LaRae Egan.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 10, 2024, at the Home Ranch Ward, 2051 South Emerson, with Bishop Jeff Westfall officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery. Military Honors will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
