Vernon Lee George, 87, of Idaho Falls, passed away January 1, 2015, at his home.
Vernon was born January 1, 1928, to Harvie H. George and Effie Ann Wilson George in Spring Valley, Arkansas.
Vernon and Ethel Louise Brown met through a friend while they were at a dance here in Idaho Falls, and were married on March 8, 1969 in Thomas at Louise's parent's house. This is the second marriage for both of them. After they retired, they enjoyed going to the Senior Center.
They are the parents of David George, who lives in Everton, Missouri, Randy Nash lives is in Star, Idaho, Rhenda Simon lives in Idaho Falls and Dennis Nash lives in Boise. They have 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren!!! Vernon's hobbies are making bird houses, yard work and putting picture puzzles together. Louise preceded him in on April 19, 2011.
Vern's favorite job was working on the cattle ranch. He also worked for U & I Sugar Factory in Lincoln for 16 years and at Logan Farm Machinery for 12 years. “Gone with the Wind” was their favorite book and movie, along with western movies. He and Louise enjoyed a variety of foods. Blue was his favorite color. Vernon's fondest memory is riding in a buggy with his mom and dad.

sister, Velma Yeager;
11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 12 great great grandchildren.
He was receded in death by his parents, his wife Louise, and two brothers, and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 6. 2015, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue. The family will meet with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
