VerNon Albert Gardner, 84, of Idaho Falls, passed away on November 1, 2011, at his home.
He was born on October 19, 1927, in Rose, Idaho to Vern Hugh Gardner and Laura May Stanger Gardner. He attended various schools in Idaho and Washington.
On May 21, 1946, he married Carrie “Peaches” Lenore Butler in Dillion, Montana. He owned and operated an excavating business and built his family home He also worked for Bonneville County Road and Bridge as a supervisor and retired in 1992. While working at Bonneville County, he was voted Employee of the Year.
VerNon was a member of the Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time at his cabin at Palisades. He also loved to watch Boise Broncos and NBA Basketball games.

Sister: Geneva Butler, Idaho Falls, ID
8 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Earl Gardner.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2011, at the First Presbyterian Church (325 Elm St.) with Pastor Gordon Boyle officiating. The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 1-1:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Idaho Falls Food Bank through the Presbyterian Church.
