VERN CORNWALL
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Vernon John Cornwall, 67, of Idaho Falls, passed away at his home April 11, 2010.

Vern married Julie Williams on November 18, 1995, in Idaho Falls. He worked in sales and most recently as a courier for Wood Funeral Home. He and Julie also owned and operated Bubba’s Kettle Korn and Vern enjoyed meeting and interacting with people through the business. Vern worked as a District Chairman and as a precinct committee man for the Republican Party in Boise, Idaho.
Vern was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served in several Bishoprics, was a High Priest Group Leader, Stake and Ward Mission Leader, teacher and executive secretary. He served a mission at the Idaho Falls LDS Cannery and was a supervisor at the Idaho Falls Family History Center.
Vern loved to read and study genealogy and church history. He especially enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and spending time with his family. He liked to take long drives and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Idaho and Montana.

Julie, please accept our condolences at this time of loss. Vern was such an asset to us at the funeral home and we enjoyed his quiet, caring ways. It was a joy to have him in and out as he helped us each day. We knew he was struggling with some health issues, but hoped he would have many more years before leaving this earth. I am so grateful for the knowledge we have of the Plan of Salvation and that we know he is in a happy place now. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and all the family.
God bless, Susanne

I am so sorry to find out about his death. I was online in the new family search, working on genealogy and I couldn't believe it when I saw my uncle listed with my mother (Dorothy) and my aunt Carolyn. I really would have come to his funeral if I had known. I have a lot of happy memories of Uncle Vernon at my Grandma and Grandpa Cornwall's house when I was little - cider and doughnuts on Halloween, playing with Leo and Ryan as we jumped off the side of the pink porch and sent pretend mail through the mailbox that opened into their house. Uncle Vernon was a great man. He always made me feel happy to be around him. I know you will miss him terribly. I guess mom is slowly getting her family back, but I know Uncle Vernon will still be with you and watch out for you all.
Love,
Penny (Hathaway) Craig
