Vernita Edith Meikle, 88, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away July 10, 2013, at Monticello Assisted Living in Idaho Falls.
Vernita was born June 18, 1925, in Chapin, Idaho, to Henry Cooper Beesley and Edith Little Beesley. She attended schools in Tetonia and Driggs.
On October 20, 1943, she married Robert Rex Meikle in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Rex and Vernita celebrated their 57th Wedding Anniversary in 2010, right before Rex passed away on October 25, 2010. Vernita was a homemaker but also an incredible entrepreneur and master seamstress.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many capacities, including in the Primary and the Scouting organizations. She enjoyed genealogy, sewing, gardening, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by

Son: Bob (Connie) Meikle of Star Valley, WY;
Daughter: Sandra (Michael) Sessions of Caldwell, ID;
Daughter: Susan Jespersen of Mission Viejo, CA;
Son: Dan (Lisa) Meikle of St George, UT;
Son: Ted (Becky) Meikle of Idaho Falls, ID;
Son: Todd (Jana) Meikle of Idaho Falls, ID;
Son: David Meikle of Idaho Falls, ID;
19 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, Alden, Dell, Verl and Jerald Beesley; sisters, Wanda Gunter and Zina Beesley; grandson, Taylor Sessions, and granddaughters, Heather Sessions and Natalie Meikle.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge, Idaho Falls, with her grandson, Michael Sessions, officiating. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to services Saturday at Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be immediately following the services in the Cache-Clawson Cemetery.
