Verneta Edwards

Verneta Ann Edwards, 72, of Iona, passed away September 18, 2025, at Parkwood Meadows Assisted Living Community.

Verneta was born January 21, 1953, in Gooding, Idaho, to Verdell Wayne Tinker and Neta Ellen Hunter Tinker. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho.

On October 19, 1968, she married Orvid Kay Edwards in Lincoln, Idaho. Verneta and Orvid made their home in Iona where they raised their family.

She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, hunting, fishing, ceramics, and shopping. Together they enjoyed trips to Salmon and Nevada.

Verneta is survived by her sons, Alvin (Ricki) Edwards of Idaho Falls, Jeff (Stephanie) Edwards of Ammon, ID, and Rick (Heather) Edwards of Iona, ID; sister, Kathy (Darrell) Webb of FL; sister, Pat Webb of WA; 7 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orvid Kay Edwards; and three siblings.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the Iona Cemetery, 4950 East First Street. The family will visit with friends from 1-1:45 p.m. prior to services at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road.
