Verne Lyle Parrish, Jr., 48, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away December 2, 2011, at his home. Verne was born January 26, 1963, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Verne Lyle Parrish Sr. and Janet Ruth Schritter Parrish. He lived briefly in Pocatello, then spent three years of his childhood in Alaska before moving to Idaho Falls, where he grew up and attended schools. A jack-of-all-trades, Verne worked in construction, as a mechanic, and as an excavator operator. He owned his own excavating business for several years. Verne’s daughter, Sasha, was the light of his life. He raised her from the age of three months and she and her family were the greatest joy of his life. Verne loved motorcycles and hot rods, and restoring old cars was a passion. He spent many happy hours with his son-in-law, Hector, working on old cars in the garage. Verne is survived by his father, Verne (Christine) Parrish, Sr. of Phoenix, AZ his daughter, Sasha (Hector) Meza of Idaho Falls, ID; two brothers, Steve (Laurel) Parrish of Meridian, ID, and Ben (Kristy) Parrish of Billings, MT; a sister, Vaniece (Dave) Petso of Boise, ID; a sister, Heidi (Doug) Kartel, Boise, ID; a grandson, Hector Meza Jr. of Idaho Falls, ID; and a granddaughter, Maliyah Meza of Idaho Falls, ID; He was preceded in death by his mother, Janet. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 8, 2011, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Wood East Side.
