VERN COX
IDAHO FALLS, ID - Vernard DuFosee "Vern" Cox,
80, of Idaho Falls, died January 29, 2005, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical
Center.
He was born Apri1 13, 1924, in Hinckley, Utah, to Charles
Robert Cox and Hannah Dora Blake Cox. The family moved to Shelley, Idaho
where he attended schools.
After graduation, he served as a Staff Sargeant in U.
S. Army Intelligence during World War II. He received the Purple Heart
and has been a life long member of the American Legion.
He married Dorothy Joyce Gray July 26, 1951, in the Idaho
Falls LDS Temple. He worked as a farmer, a chinchilla rancher, for Rogers
Brothers Potato and in Maintenance for the LDS Church.
He served an LDS Mission to the Southern States and in
many church callings including many stake missions, in the Bishopric,
and the High Priest Group. He was affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America
for 43 years and was awarded the Silver Beaver.
He enjoyed fishing, gardening, genealogy, collecting
rocks, camping and especially spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He was willing to serve without being asked and quick to volunteer for
projects.

Sister: Rita Burtenshaw, Idaho Falls, ID
Sister: Roberta Geisler, Annis, ID
24 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughters, Christine and
Pauline, brothers, James, Charles, Lloyd and Verl, and sisters, Pearl
and Lela .
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m Wednesday, February
2, 2005, at the Idaho Falls LDS 14th Ward, 651 Gladstone, with Bishop
Mel Georgeson officiating.
The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 6:30
to 8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge, and from 10 to 10:45
a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park under the direction
of Wood Funeral Home. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville
County Veterans Team.
