Verna Davidson

Verna Davidson, 81, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 18, 2017, at her home. She was under the care of Aspen Home Health and Hospice.

Verna was born May 31, 1936, in Randolph, UT, to Ralph Sidney Speirs and Theil Zettie Kearl Speirs. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School.

On February 22, 1957, she married Marinus Jacob Davidson in Idaho Falls. The marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple in 1980. To this union were born eight children, Sherri, Marina, Albert, Jeffrey, Christine, Maaike, Brian and Randy. Verna and Marinus made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Verna was a homemaker.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed being with her family, reading, embroidery, scrapbooking, quilting, and performing quiet service. She served as Relief Society President, Primary President, and other callings in the church.

Verna is survived by daughter, Sherri Lee Davidson, daughter, Marina Nielsen, son, Albert Davidson, son, Jeffrey Davidson, daughter, Christine Harrop, daughter, Maaike Davidson, son, Brian Davidson, son, Randy Davidson, brother, Douglas Speirs. 28 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Sidney Speirs; mother, Theil Zettie Speirs; husband, Marinus Jacob Davidson; and sisters, Sharon Taylor and Sydnee McCambridge.

Services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, August 25, 2017, at Idaho Falls LDS Willow Creek Ward, 6925 North 15th East, with Bishop Jason Hales officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, and Friday from 10:00 am to 10:45 am. Burial will be in the Lincoln Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Aspen Home Health and Hospice, Life Care Center, Dr. Lassiter, Dr. Packer, and so many others who helped her with her medical care.
