Vern Bendixsen - 04/07/2003 Vern Bendixsen - 04/07/2003 VERN BENDIXSEN IDAHO FALLS, ID - Vern Casper Bendixsen, age 85, passed away peacefully April 4, 2003, at his son's home in Walla Walla, Washington, with his family at this side. He was born August 27, 1917, in Alexander, Idaho. He served in the Philippines in the U.S. Army during World War II. He had a successful career as a Furniture Manufacture Representative. After retiring in 1986, Vern and his wife Gen spent time traveling throughout the country in their motor home. Family, traveling and church service were his main enjoyments. He is survived by his daughter Kristen Bendixsen; a son, Dennis (Lanette) Bendixsen; two sisters, three brothers and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 8, 2003, at Wood Chapel of the Pines, 273 North Ridge Avenue, with Paul Robertson officiating. The family will visit with friends Monday from 7-8:30 p.m. and Tuesday for one hour prior to services, both at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge). Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Team.
