VERLA HART
IDAHO FALLS, ID - Verla Louise Lowder Lloyd Hart, 88, of
Idaho Falls, passed away May 1, 2005, at The Gables Assisted Living Center
of causes incident to age.
Verla was born June 5, 1916, in Labelle, Idaho, to James
Frank Lowder and Martha Eliza Hutchens Lowder. She grew up in Labelle and
attended schools there and in Rigby. She graduated from Rigby High School
with the Class of 1934.
Verla married Jesse Griff Lloyd November 16, 1936 in the
Salt Lake LDS Temple. They had two daughters, Shirlene Louise and Judy Rae.
He passed away in 1947. Verla later married Joe F. Hart May 11, 1958. Joe
has been her devoted husband for 47 years and her constant, loving care giver
during her later years.
Verla was a homemaker and mother. In addition she had a varied
career in bookkeeping. She worked for the Idaho Potato Growers, the Bonneville
Hotel and the Idaho Falls Head Start Program. She belonged to the Idaho Falls
Riding Posse and was a Pink Lady volunteer for the Idaho Falls LDS (Riverview)
Hospital for several years.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints, Verla held many positions. Verla’s greatest joy in life was
her family. Other interests included crocheting, needlepoint, playing the
organ, growing roses, ceramics, golfing and traveling.
Survivors include her husband, Joe F. Hart of Idaho Falls;
two daughters, Shirlene (Arlen) Beall and Judy, both of Idaho Falls; six grandchildren,
Debbie (Ervin) Blumhorst, Trudy (Joe) Fife, Matt (Lynne) Morgan, Kayla (Clint)
John, Joni (Josh) Manwaring, and Amy (Darren) Rhoades; 13 great grandchildren,
with another one due in October, and one great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Arvel
Lowder and Leslie Lowder, and one sister, Lucille Lowder Buckland.
Verla’s family would like to thank Dr. Bradley Stoddard
and his nurse, Cindy, A-1 Home Care Solutions and their aides, with a special
thanks to Corrine Adams, who has been with Verla for 1-1/2 years, The Gables
Assisted Living Center, and Aspen Hospice.
Funeral Services will be at 12 Noon Thursday, May 5, 2005,
at the Idaho Falls LDS 28th Ward, 1165 Azalea Drive, with Bishop Cleo Geddes
officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and for one hour before the services on
Thursday.
Burial will be in the Annis-Little Butte Cemetery under
the direction of Wood Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made
in Verla’s memory to Aspen Hospice at 3470 Washington Parkway, Idaho
Falls, ID, 83404.
