VERLA ENGSTROM IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Verla Engstrom, 90, of Idaho Falls, passed away on April 28, 2009, at her son’s home with family. She was born June 8, 1918, in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Cecil Wayne Lords and Wacel Dora Gardner Lords. She grew up and attended schools in the area, graduating from Idaho Falls High School. On May 20, 1939, she married Gustav “Swede” Alvin Engstrom in Idaho Falls. He preceded her in death on October 8, 1980. Verla was a devoted mother and homemaker and also worked as a secretary at Falls Valley Supply. Verla was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed camping, fishing, and the outdoors. She especially loved her family and spending time with them. Survivors are: Daughter: Adele Engstrom George, Idaho Falls, ID Son: Jerry Engstrom, Rexburg, ID Son: Val Engstrom, Cypress, CA Son: Kurt Engstrom, Pocatello, ID Son: Jay Engstrom, Boise, ID 13 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren, and 4 Great Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and 2 brothers. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2009, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. and Saturday for one hour prior to the services, both at Wood Funeral Home.
