VERLA COLLINS IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Verla Annis Elliott Collins, 77, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 8, 2005, at her home of a lengthy illness. She was under the care of Aspen Home Health & Hospice. She was born January 14, 1928, at Lincoln, Idaho, to David John Elliott and Martha Surilda Norton Elliott. She grew up in the Lincoln area and attended Lincoln Grade School, then graduated from Ammon High School. She married Robert Allen Collins December 12, 1948, in Lincoln, Idaho. She was a homemaker and mother and also worked as a bookkeeper at Midstate Transport, Inc. and Robert Collins Company in Idaho Falls. She spent 17 summers ranching with her husband in Grays Lake, Idaho. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a Primary Teacher. She was a member of the Election Board, served as a volunteer for the Community Fund Raiser, and was a daily reporter for the U. S. Weather Gauging Station at Grays Lake. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, bird watching, country day trips, and her many pets. Her granddaughter, Bobbie Cleverley of Nampa, was a great joy in her life, as were her “adopted” children, Mark and LouAnn Johnson, their children, and Susan Cleverley, all of Idaho Falls. Survivors are: Husband: Robert Collins of Idaho Falls, ID Son: Richard Collins of Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Cheryl Collins of Idaho Falls, ID Son: Reo Collins of Idaho Falls, ID Sister: Molly (Zane) Caldwell of Blackfoot, ID Sister-In-Law: Carol Stafford of West Valley City, UT Brother-In-Law: Fay C. Riley of Dillon, MT Granddaughter: Bobbie Cleverley of Nampa, ID She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Reo Elliott, a sister, LuDean Reed, a grandson, Brent Collins, and a daughter-in-law, Carma Collins. Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12, 2005, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, with Bishop Steve Perry of the Idaho Falls LDS 15th Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday for one hour prior to the services, both at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge).
