Verl Young

Verl Dean Young, 53, of Idaho Falls, passed away June 11, 2011, at his home. Verl was born January 27, 1958, in Rigby, Idaho, to Nathaniel Carling Young and Margie Louise Quinton Young. He grew up in Utah and Eastern Idaho and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. Following high school, he served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Verl worked as a truck driver for Meadow Gold and Miller Trucking. Later he owned and operated his own trucking operation. As a youth Verl was active in the Boy Scouts of America and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He enjoyed dogs, model airplanes, new technology, camping, and fishing. Verl was never afraid to do things, even if it made him look silly. Verl is survived by his mother, Margie Young Haycock, six brothers, and three sisters. He was preceded in death by his father., Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery with Bishop Scott Blackham of the Terreton LDS Second Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, before proceeding to the cemetery. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
