Verenna Jean Skinner Moore, 81, of Huntsville, Utah, former longtime resident of Idaho Falls, passed away May 13, 2017, at the home of her daughter, Jeannie Allen, in Huntsville from liver failure. She was born September 28, 1935, in Bedford, Wyoming, to LeRoy A. Skinner and Zelta Coy Skinner. She grew up and attended schools in the area, graduating from Star Valley High School. On December 3, 1955, she married Willis L. Moore in Rigby, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on February 14, 1970. They lived in Rigby until moving to Idaho Falls around 1963 where they made their home for over 50 years. She worked as a waitress in Jackson, Wyoming, at Reed Drug in Rigby, Idaho, at Ferrell’s Clothing in Idaho Falls and was a cook and kitchen manager at Bush Elementary and Skyline High Schools. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous callings including Primary Teacher, Inservice Teacher, Young Women President, Counselor in the Primary Presidency, Counselor in Relief Society Presidencies a couple of times and Relief Society President. She was also a temple worker for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, flower arranging, cooking, camping, going to baseball games, decorating for holidays, watching mysteries on TV and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Jeannie (Terry) Allen of Huntsville, Utah, and their children, Jessica (Jack) Winn, Scott (Morgan) Allen and Ember (Clark) Boyd; her daughter, Nancy (Paul) Lords of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and their children, Shannon (Hiram) Wigant, Heather (Jonathan) Goodsell, Spencer and Steven Lords. She had six great grandchildren. Survivors also include one sister, Monna Tyler of Casper, Wyoming, and one brother, Don (Karen) Skinner of Salt Lake City, Utah. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willis; brother, Alma Skinner; sister, Lois Turner; and sisters, Lola and Lana Skinner who died as infants. Verenna was always very thoughtful of others and loved to serve them. She had a firm testimony of her beliefs in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Faith and prayer were important to her and sustained her through her life. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 20, 2017, at the Idaho Falls LDS Willowbrook Ward, 1200 Dunbar, with Bishop Shawn Orgill officiating. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.
