Verda Stuart

Verda Shirley Woolstenhulme Stuart, 79, of Idaho Falls, passed away June 26, 2015, at Turtle & Crane Assisted Living. She was under the care of Encompass Hospice. Verda was born March 24, 1936, in Driggs, Idaho, to George Stephen Woolstenhulme and Vanna Vera Cover Woolstenhulme. She grew up and attended schools in Victor and graduated from Teton High School. She worked as a nanny for a summer after graduation. Verda was working for Fish Creek Ranch in Wyoming, when she met her husband, Warren. On October 6, 1956, she married Warren Lewis Stuart in Victor, Idaho. To this union were born five children, Mont, RaNae, Earl, LeAnn, and Val. After moving to Idaho Falls, she was a stay at home Mom which was her most favorite of all. She briefly worked as a hotel maid and later as a dishwasher and prep cook at Rainbow Café. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren with a passion, as well as soap operas, games shows, reading, and coffee while visiting with friends. Verda is survived by her daughter, Georgia RaNae Jenkins of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Earl LaMar (Mindy) Stuart of Tremonton, UT; daughter, Sandra LeAnn (Dave) Brower of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Teanie Fuel of Mesquite, NV; sister, Mary Walker of Annandale, VA; brother, Elmo (Karla) Woolstenhulme of Idaho Falls, ID; 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Warren, who passed away September 28, 2014; son, Lewis LaMont Stuart; son, Warren Val Stuart; great granddaughter, Ashalynn Merrill; son-in-law, Leonard Hall; sisters, Vera Foster, Dollie Landess, Geneva Matkin; brothers, George Woolstenhulme, Douglas Woolstenhulme, and William "Bill" Woolstenhulme. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Victor Cemetery.
