Verda C. Smout - 01/12/2003 Verda C. Smout - 01/12/2003 VERDA C. SMOUT IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Verda Casper Smout, 83, of Idaho Falls, died January 9, 2003, at Good Samaritan Nursing Center. She was born July 23, 1919, in Garfield, Idaho, to Myron Cleneth Casper and Mable Minnie Taylor Casper. She attended grade school in Garfield and high school in Ucon. On October 31, 1935, she married Darwin Felix Smout in St. Anthony, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on June 20, 1958. She was a devoted wife and loving mother. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, embroidery, and had a “green thumb” when it came to growing plants. (Woody) Winter, Boise, IDBrother: Orson Casper, Salt Lake City, UTBrother: Duane Casper, Nampa, ID 7 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren, and 2 Great Great GrandchildrenShe was preceded in death by a son, Darwin E. “Junior” Smout; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Smout, a grandson, Darwin Smout; two brothers and three sisters. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 13, 2003, at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge Ave.) with Bishop Dean Arnoldsen of the Idaho Falls LDS 21st Ward officiating. The family will meet with friends for one hour prior to the services at Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be in Iona Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
